the nurse just got back with me on discussing GLP-1 Pills she said that my insurance won’t cover the cost and it would be 1 hundred and 50 dollars out of pocket for the GLP-1 pills. Way to bust my bubble I was excited about trying them darn nurse had to check it out oh well guess I will be fat from now on for the rest of my life talk about frustrating and discouraging.

I got on Mounjaro cuz of an oral glucose tolerance test…my diabetes was diagnosed just based on that. I cheated, tho, by eating a Hersheys bar before the test (my doc “suggested” this, cuz he wanted me on it, too). So Medicare agreed to pay for it. My sugars are normal on all the other tests…

Your insurance might not cover the pills but they will probably cover the injections
The injections are simple and painless to use
Are you on Medicare Plan D? I have a plan with Humana that counts. It’s part of the requirement for the GLP bridge. She got me the injections, not the pills, not sure if there’s a difference on getting coverage.

I think eventually these Medicines GLP-1 will be available for all. It’s just a matter of time. Just my opinion. When the medicare bridge program started on July 1, I got diagnosed with diabetes the same day. So ironic.
But I understand your despair. It’s really hard being overweight and having to take meds that make it worse. Please take care.

I don’t know what planet your political leader is from. He should have given the order to offer that kind of meds for free to all of us with those terrible conditions. I hope he very soon will write an executive order to offer the GLP treatment to all of the people who have very hard to treat weight issues caused by antipsychotics.
