So I’m a man of decluttering and have been for years after my journey overseas. I know it was only two years but I came back from owning a suitcase to coming back with a suitcase and it changed my life…
No longer do I need to cart around 10 boxes of books. 100 records. 200 plus cds…go digital but stuff spotify because it kills the modern artist so…
Today I added to my vinyl collection with a suggestion on my youtube feed and looking good to hearing it. Neutral Milk Hotel…In the Aeroplane Over The Sea…I’m avoiding listening to it all on youtube simply for the vinyl goodness.
I’ve a bluetooth turntable the kids got me for turning 50 and they got me some good entry level Audio Technica headphones so I’m excited about my new buy…
What’s is on your radar for the vinyl revival? It’s been good revisiting old favourites like The Wall.
I’ve heard that Neutral Milk Hotel record is really good. I tried sampling a couple songs off of it and it just wasn’t my cup of tea.
I haven’t bought any records in a long time as the top of my vintage style jukebox is a mess haha! I do have my eye on Van Morrison’s classic “Moondance” though. I hear it sounds amazing on vinyl.
Thanks matey! Yeah I just heard a bit but I’m keen for a listen. I’m off the booze mostly so looking to spend money wisely…It’s hard work so behaving is good. Sick of being poor in the modern world on disability so doing good things…hope you are too!
Yw old friend! And yes sir! I’m winning the hearts and minds of the common folk in my building haha! I’ve also gotten better at saving and spending money more wisely. I got my eye on a Martin Mini acoustic guitar that I’ve been saving up for.
I was listening to Seasick Steves last album & I really like it, I was considering buying it on Vinyl.
At music group today I wanted to play diddley bo but it was funny BC it’s only a single stringed homemade instrument sort of tuned to D sharp, I reckon my last music teacher could have got the tune down on piano or guitar but this guy was like ‘nope’ lol,
Anyway, we ended up practicing wild horses by the rolling stones.
I’m certainly not a vinyl head or anything, but my grandpa has a cool record player/setup at his house. A lot of original old records, mostly country oldies stuff. But I will listen more to those when I get the chance
oh I miss playing records on a turntable…one of my most original artwork pieces I’ve ever done was aliens cutting the earth in half and lodging the arm of the turntable in the moon and playing on the axis of the earth…lots of flying vinyl records coming from the moon to the earth…hard to describe…anyways…I’m really proud that you guys like vinyl…I would kill for a decent stereo and vinyl again.
It’s incredibly luxurious because I’m poor but it’s nice to have some vinyl and even on the bluetooth the sound is so different from my exercise music which is itunes on the phone…
Even with bluetooth the clarity and space is a lot different with the vinyl!
My spouse has a vinyl collection of 1000+ vinyls. I listen to all my music on vinyl too… I just like it better. I like the sound quality and the album cover art. Now my spouse is waiting to get Angine de Poitrine vinyl on the mail. I like their live performance, I hope it sounds good on album as well
