That sounds like a good time, @PhotoGuy! It’s also great to see Hanukkah represented on the forum.
For Christmas (we’re celebrating on Christmas Eve due to work schedules), I’m getting catering from a BBQ joint- smoked meats, mashed potatoes, macaroni, stuffing, caramel bread pudding, and sweet iced tea. On the actual day of Christmas, I plan to try to get my youngest to play games and watch movies with me. We can cuddle with the dogs and make a day of it while the guys sleep in preparation for their weird work schedules.
Oh- and presents, though not as many as usual. Now that my youngest is 19, there isn’t as much reason to spend $300 a kid. That gets pricey, and I don’t know that they need all that stuff.
Thank you! This is probably the least antisemitic forum on the web. I’ve experienced a lot of antisemitism.
my mom is catholic and I get her a replica of the leg lamp from “A Christmas Story!” I bet she’ll love it.
if I ever have kids I’ll probably ending up spoiling the hell out of them lol
I’m glad to hear you aren’t having issues here because of your religion. I teach people from all around the world, of all different faiths, and we all manage to be civil to one another even when discussing specific holidays. I don’t see why we can’t celebrate altogether here, too, and keep the religious aspect out of things.
We definitely spoiled our kids when we could. It was as much fun for me as for them. I like planning and organizing, and I’d plan and plot for months on what to get them. More than once, I’ve lost a present because I just had so many! One year, I hid two televisions in plain sight, and no one noticed! Ha!- that was a fantastic year!
I’ll go to my sister’s house for her big breakfast, a Christmas tradition in their house. From there I’ll go to work. I might bring a crockpot full of buffalo mac and cheese for the work potluck
.
I’m sorry that happened to you. That’s terrible. Shalom.
I will be going with wifes parents on Christmas eve and my parents on Christmas day.
For the eve of Christmas eve(the 23rd) , Im getting an injection to celebrate the upcoming holiday. Hooray!
We’re having Christmas at my house. My step family’s gonna be there.
Ill be preparing for the feast. Ill go to Mass and Divine Liturgy with my family the night before. Then at crack of dawn we begin cooking the prepped food and goods. By midday we are ready to eat. And then 7th January Ill be doing it again haha
My 25 year old is coming over Christmas Eve after I get off work. My 20 year old is coming over Christmas Day. My sister invited us to her house Christmas evening but we’re not sure we can go because our daughter doesn’t want to go so it depends on the timing of everything
Going to see my niece and nephew.
Im not sure if i will do anything. I prefer to not. Need 2 weeks of isolation.
Down with antisemitism. I’m glad you feel safe here.
Watch my kids open their presents. And enjoy their excitement.
Eat well. Drink well.
Spend time with family.
I so agree. It’s actually repulsive how much antisemitism is about these days.
It’s sad that it’s growing on the right and the left. I went to a predominantly Jewish school and I’ve seen antisemitism my whole life even in my own family, I’ve always seen it as unfair.
Usually Xmas eve with my mom’s side then Xmas day with my dad’s side UNFORTUNATELY tho this Christmas its gonna be no celebration of my mom’s side BUT we’re going to go to a restaurant in a few days with my mom’s side
I don’t understand racism. I’ve always enjoyed learning about people of other cultures. I’m Native American and white, but I’ve made friends with Indians from India Filipinos Spanish people. I just love learning about other cultures Japanese people Chinese people a friend. I’ve been friends with.
Haha! I’m getting my injection Christmas Eve too! An hour before the family get together LOL
Gonna smash food till the new year. Good things
