The brains ability to recall information previously experienced in a less vivid simulation. It’s like when you look at the sun your eyes have a short term “memory” that leaves an after image. All of our experiences once they impact the brain through stimulating certain passageways of neurons, also can leave an after image that we have the ability to control to an extent especially when it’s only been a short time. We can consciously activate that certain neural chain due to the fact that it has recently been activated and is in an excited state with a high potential for reactivation.
I personally think we do so by turning our attention to that memory from the seat of the soul or the witnesser, the “I”. When we will to pay attention to something we’ve experienced it automatically re activates and we experience it again less vividly. It’s a useful tool in our survival and prosperity.
We can recall ideas of certain tools for example and combine them with other ideas to create new ideas even without doing it physically. Allows for a sort of virtual reality where we can do thought experiments to progress human knowledge.

Necessity is the mother of invention. How did they make a car? It was an evolving process. A lot ideas built on ideas.

I agree most things that we have are made by standing on the shoulders of giants. I think we take a lot of things for granted these days in the sense that we pay ourselves on the back for having such amazing inventions. We forget about all the work our forefathers did. A phone is a great invention but the invention of controlled electricity took countless years and decades and tireless hours and hours of intelligent people thinking and working at their desks to make the things we have today. And imagine doing all that with more limited technology. Most of the work has been done for us lol.

I think imagination is part of something. Like emtions feelings ect…. Its part of dreams part.i think when we sleep imagination takes as to journey. Not sure what to do during the day with imagination. People experiment with meditation
