I have a huge purple quartz rock in my bedroom, and wear a jade bracelet on my wrist. I also have an amethyst necklace that I don’t wear. What stone/ Crystal would you use for protection and healing?
Google says
Black Tourmaline is widely considered the best crystal for protection, acting as a powerful shield that absorbs negative vibes and grounds energy. Other top contenders include Black Obsidian (blocks negativity), Amethyst (calms/clears), and Hematite (strengthens the aura). They are best used as jewelry or placed by entryways.
I used to be into this kind of stuff about 25 years ago.
I don’t think it should be taken too seriously though.
i dont think crystals can heal though any kind of mystical power or anything, but i do think colours can change our emotions. i noticed that when i started wearing more colours with my clothes. i used to wear all blakc… now that i wear more red i feel less depressed. it can make a real emotional difference. if thats the premise behind crystals then maybe there could be something behind it
btw its a good question and i think this thread is fine so far, but just a reminder to everyone that psuedo-science is not allowed according to the rules so just reminding that we should keep it to that so we can keep this thread open.
Any crystal would work if you be kind to it and ask its healing . Meditate with it . Energise it with your hands. Be greatful for ir
None. Not a believer.
I think you really need to love them. Sit with them talk with them
@Raptor_Z if you beleive these things it fine and i dont know if you mean physical or spirtual healing but… if you mean physical it breaks the psudo science rule, and if you mean spirtually then it breaks the rule against promoting or discussing religious/spiritual things extensively. so im gonna pause this one for now unless you guys can promise to keep it within the rules.
edit: technically noones recommended it for healing from sz, so ive decided to reopen the thread. That being said were really walking a thin line here. please keep things non psudeo science and non-spirtual.
If you believe crystals can heal that’s fine, its a personal belief, but promoting it for healing of schizophrenia or talking how crystals can heal you spiritually is against the rules.
Reopening thread please keep it within the site rules.
Idk man i think its about protection from sz fears and healing sz
thanks poet, I wanted to note that maybe the feeling of the stone in the hand and the shape & the coolness from it etc can play into this, the colours definitely stimulate mood.
i see, but noones explicitly said it so were keeping it open for now since TECHNICALLY no rules have been broken but it seems were getting there
atleast by my estimation. ill leave it to the other mods if they want to close it
Your call obviously. I don’t find the topic offensive just really annoying.
I don’t think it cures anything but the whole ritual of Rekei stimulates a lot of the senses and can have the effect of soothing to the point where a person may go to sleep
@POET has point,this is pseudoscience …
Like Superman stone..
Short answer: yes—most claims about crystals are pseudoscience.
But there’s some nuance worth knowing.
Why crystals are considered pseudoscience
-
Claims like “this crystal heals anxiety,” “balances chakras,” or “emits specific energies that cure illness” aren’t supported by scientific evidence.
-
Studies haven’t shown crystals to have effects beyond placebo.
-
Explanations often use scientific-sounding words (“vibrations,” “energy fields”) without testable mechanisms.
What is real / reasonable
-
Crystals are real minerals with real physical properties (structure, hardness, conductivity, etc.).
-
People can feel calmer, focused, or comforted when using crystals because of:
-
Placebo effect
-
Mindfulness & intention-setting
-
Aesthetic or symbolic meaning
-
-
Those psychological effects are real—even if the cause isn’t mystical energy.
Where it crosses the line
-
It becomes harmful pseudoscience when crystals are:
-
Used instead of medical treatment
-
Marketed as curing diseases
-
Sold with fear-based or deceptive claims
-
A fair way to think about it
Crystals don’t have proven healing powers—but if someone enjoys them as symbols, rituals, or reminders, that’s fine as long as it doesn’t replace real healthcare.
If you want, I can break down specific crystal claims (like amethyst, rose quartz, etc.) and explain what’s myth vs. reality—or talk about why crystal beliefs are so appealing in the first place.
i personally dont know if it works or not but since noone recommended it for sz healing i left the thread….. if people start recommending it for SZ i have no choice but to close
Idk, you had to use ai, I answered very simply in my own way, I’d rather talk to people and not robots,
I have experience of using reiki and it was a very nice feeling and it calmed me and made me feel nice but that’s all it did and there could have been numerous reasons why it made me feel good at the time but its definitely not a cure,
If you think it helps then that’s a good thing, (why knock a good thing) but I wouldn’t replace my care and treatment with it, that would be stupid.
Its sort of depicted over here as a complimentary therapy but that’s maybe pushing it a bit, its more a form of guided meditation in my opinion, seemed to be temporary for me as well.
