Lol.. Well I like my curries better, chicken thigh tikka, I learned to cook rice from a Nigerian support worker, I did a Sri Lankan curry cooking course in Sri Lanka and I can make a curry or tagine for 6 people for under ÂŁ20 where as a takeaway for 6 people would cost ÂŁ90, so mine are better ![]()
Lol hey man my comment was a reply to rainstorms comment not yours. I’m sure your a great chef! Didn’t mean it towards you ![]()
no worries… I didn’t take offence.
I would love to learn how to make curry. I tried once and it was pretty good! I think they key is using coconut butter if I’m not mistaken. That’s what really brings the dish together for me.
I use tinned coconut milk, I can buy coconut butter in exotic shops but they are in the city so just sometimes use coconut milk if I’m cooking a Keralan coconut curry. Delicious. It’s really easy to make a curry I think. ![]()
I see dude, yea I had a lot of curry growing up. My mom always used creamed coconut but that’s Jamaican style curry so maybe it’s different idk. I do love curry chicken though it was always one of my favourite dishes growing up.
I went out for my 40 birthday in nov with 9 friends and support staff to a Indian in my town and it cost me £320 for us all and although it was great I could of make it all for £100 but I think its about the experience so I don’t mind doing things like that. I had a few friends who couldn’t afford to pay for themselves so I decided I would pay for everything so they didn’t feel excluded.
I’m a pretty good cook too; I can follow most recipes.
I used to be an architect before I fell ill to sz at 35 in 1997. I designed mainly storefronts, furniture, and mostly house designs for the majority of my career…miss it…used to be bitter I lost the career…over it now…just proud of it now.
I don’t think I’m very interesting apart from my Larp, new job & art but I don’t consider that all that interesting
I did a workaway in Netherlands during Christmas holidays several years ago
I gave food to pigs and chickens, then washed the dishes
I worked 5 hours a day 5 days a week, the weekend was off
I visited the countryside, walked in villages and said Hi to everyone I met
I also visited Groningen
And I loved celebrating Christmas and New Year with the family I was with
I also joined a Discord server that was free speech and where I felt accepted for the first time in a long time during this trip
I had anxiety and psychosis during this trip , but in the end I had a really good time
how did you like the netherlands?
It was windy but the wind wasn’t pushing people when I was there
Sometimes it was rainy a lot too so the weather wasn’t great
But a lot of people in Netherlands talk English so you can easily ask help if you’re lost
And most people seemed warm
I loved the fact there are a lot of canals every where, it’s soothing
Where I was living in the countryside, people weren’t driving crazy so you could walk on the road without being scared
That sounds awesome!
When I was 8 years old I played a piano accordion with 120 buttons for the left hand. I toured with an adult polka band. I was the only child in the band. They would often talk about things they shouldn’t in front of me because they would forget I was there. At least that’s what I’m guessing. It was a blast!
What a good story!
It’s hard for me to think of interesting things about myself.
But something semi-embarrassing that I don’t think I’ve told you guys:
When I volunteered in Kenya at 18 years old (I was young and dumb) I almost married a 29 year old man from there…
SO glad I didn’t. Sheesh.
