Why? Why? Why? (meaning)

Why do some people need to find meaning in life and others don’t?

some people don’t care, dyou know what I mean?

I get really upset sometimes thinking my life is pointless, why you think that is and can anyone relate to this?

I’ve had instances where I want to find meaning in life but for the vast majority of the time finding meaning doesn’t occupy my time. If I was asked I might come up with something or if I was asked what my purpose is I might find an answer but those things rarely, if ever, cross my mind unless I read a thread on here about them.

I used to think this a lot, not so much anymore. Nowadays I tend to think meaning of life is try to minimize pain, and that is about it.

You have to choose to find meaning, you’re on your own

Energy cannot be created or destroyed; it can only change forms or be transferred between systems.

I feel like a failure in life and what’s the point of existing if only to fail, surely there should be some inherent reason to exist.

If there isn’t a reason to exist are we just supposed to accept that our existence is pointless?

Who wants to live a pointless existence?

Maybe I am a bit stupid to think of this, I just don’t get it.

What about your job, your club, being friendly with your neighbor, and your groups?

Maybe the point of living is not being a success, whatever you think a success is. Maybe it’s something else like being kind or making someone else happy.

If you’re looking for meaning, look back thousands of years before all of these social conventions and society was invented. What was mans purpose then? Survival maybe. We’ve created all of these things to please and stroke us into not thinking on a daily basis. Now you don’t even need an imagination. The people before you already thought everything out for you. You just follow rules. You follow rules and try to survive. People are easily impressionable. You tell a sick man this is how a sick man acts and then the sick person acts in accordance. You show rap videos to kids they dress and act like they’re favorite stars. Everyone wants to be a hero. Save the day. Save yourself.

Meaning is a choice. You don’t have to be religious to believe that our actions and thoughts matter.

We call that Nihilism.

Ultimately we have to find meaning. Some turn to faith or feel called to it. Others go elsewhere. There is always something for someone.

I feel like I am not fulfilling what I was put here to do thus failing my objective as a man, I get how its not supposed to be me who dictates how my life should be but idk why I haven’t got that chance to fulfil it yet :frowning: it seems like maybe God doesn’t think I am ready or he is waiting for the right moment and all I am supposed to do is pray and hope, maybe its not the right time for me, maybe it never will be and I guess I have to accept that but its hard bc I feel like a loser.

Why not be imaginative and create your own?

so how do you measure succes and failure?

I bet it is by capitalist measures.

Even the nuclear family is built upon capitalist endeavours.

Throw that measure in the bin where it belongs…

Do not compare to others and measure your own success by your rules.

In many ways we should hope for the best but to expect the worst. If you are a man of prayer/faith, keep at it. Ultimately, what we want versus what we need is always a point of contention within ourselves.

I know its not a nice feeling.
