If I go to a certain hospital they only give risperidone or if o go to a different hospital they only give haldol etc

There are several reasons, but it seems to me that hospitals have their own contracts with pharmaceutical companies. In other words, hospitals pay less for the medications because they buy them in bulk.

When I went to the psych ward they were giving patients all different kinds of drugs. When I was a nurse doing my internship I gave psych patients all kinds of drugs.
