My husband is an old fashioned guy, suggests living without a phone. Just having a button phone. But is that viable nowadays? What if I have to go to the library each time I want to access internet? My laptop hasn’t got a connection. Maybe I should get one…what if I’m stuck going out without internet to check things or Google maps? It sounds appealing living without a smartphone but is it possible? Anyone of you live like that with just a button phone?

It’s possible but not very sensible. Like you say, maps is very handy

I don’t believe living life without a smartphone is possible with the exception of elderly folks of whom have never used a computer before.

Just Google Maps is enough to make it worth it for me. When I first started driving in 1978 I used to need a paper map to go anywhere further than 5 miles away.

I had only a dumbphone for a while, but I had a desktop that I could use for internet so that’s how I made it work.
Now I have a smart and a dumbphone with twin simcard. But the nokia dumbphone is buggy as heck.
The same thing happened with my previous dumbphone, suddenly it stops receiving texts and calls and I have to turn the power off and on to get it working again. Both were nokias. Nokia used to be the best, but now they are totally crap. I will replace my dumbphone with another brand at some point. Never nokia again.

I haven’t had a cell phone in roughly 8 years.. its better I think nobody disturbs me when im not home.. I have a landline no voice mail haha

Hi Dika, I find my phone invaluable… How come your husband doesn’t? I would keep it and just say that you only go online here and there to use the forum which is better than counseling
I still need smartphone because my family members want to contact me through instant messaging app. This is the main reason.
I think only after 2015 I started switching from my favorite clam shell button phone to Android smartphone.
Before using WhatsApp, I remember we use MMS to send picture.

I still use it to come on here but now keep it by my laptop in living room. I use button phone for my main phone.
Hubby’s old fashioned with phones, he also has button phone and uses his smartphone only for business.

I have no tv,wi fi,only radio and 30gb on sim.I need smartphone but don’t like it ..
