Ugh I don’t know what to do. My apartment complex manager just told me people Have been complaining about my dog barking. Which is strange because I mostly work from home and she does not bark when I’m at home so it must be happening when out of the house. However, the apartment manager said that there’s been no complaints after hours or doing quiet hours so I really do not know what they mean. There is a dog a couple doors down from us that does constantly bark in lunch with the window, I’m wondering if the complaint is coming from that. I just don’t wanna be asked to leave this complex or written up or charged a fee or anything like that because of my dog and she really does not bark that much like I said I’m home with her all day. I would know the only time that I wouldn’t know is if I’m working from office, which is rarely.
Video tape your home with sound and audio for a whole day. It’ll prove your dog rarely barks but the neighbors dog barks regularly

it’s also odd because my dog will bark if somebody walks by but at this moment, the walkway is blocked off at one end and I’m at the very end which means nobody’s walking by my apartment unless I have to deliver a package
I feel like it’s the neighbor dog across the way that’s making them complain. He barks sooo much and throws himself at the window when she’s not home he even broke out of the window one day.
I would mention that to management
I did. She talked to me in person so I explained that the complaints are most likely coming from that other dog. She was nice about it. She said that they couldn’t really take any action against me because it’s not happening during quiet hours, so I’m not too worried. But still, I’m concerned that our neighbor is complaining about my dog. I’d like to know who but of course they can’t tell me that.

I think you can record with your phone. I looked in to doing that to record my neighbor and I thought ChatGPT gave me several ways to record audio and video when I’m not there. It’s a procedure but not too complicated.
I think I would at least have to have some sort of device to record on such as a camera or microphone that I would leave behind since I take my phone with me when I leave. But yes, that’s a good idea.
Its evident that its a mistaken ID. Mention this to the manager. That your dog does not bark, unlike others you could mention.
I mean yes I’m sure my dog does bark occasionally, she’ll bark at fireworks or if someone knocks on the door. But that’s all normal for a dog and if she’s not making a ruckus after quite hours I don’t see the big deal.
But yes, I did mention to the manager about the other dog barking, and she told me that it could’ve been a mistake about my dog that she legally had to talk me
Thats good news. But do cover your back. A recording of one day, show that its not you (or the dog). Keep it just in case anyone jumps to a strong conclusion.
