I got my puppy today

I think she’s like 9 weeks old she. She had her first poop on my floor and I never raised my voice or nothing but she looked really guilty I said aww its ok my girl.. my worker said everytime I feed her take her outside. Or after she poops or pees in ur place take her outside. These slum lords of mine want 250$ for pet fee wtf..half my income is for rent. I will have to go to food bank now for a month.. just a one time fee..

I don’t know if it works in your country but you might be able to register your pet as an emotional support animal and avoid paying the fee?

The guy on the second floor said dont pay anything and to phone the company in calgary.. the guy said u shouldn’t have to pay for a animal and that this is a pet free building and he said all these people who own these appt in town are driving in really nice vehicles. He said they rip everybody off

I would pay the fee to avoid trouble. I’m glad it’s just one time. Many places charge a monthly fee on top of rent per pet! So you’re getting off easy.

I have to pay 30 a month besides that so its not really fair

It’s not fair, but it is common. Most places charge like that by the month.

I have one dog that was free and one that I paid a lot for. This summer, I’m getting a third who is surprisingly affordable, retired from the show circuit.

Not everyone wants a shelter dog. I do like the idea of adopting, but I fostered for years for the local SPCA and saw a lot of unpleasant things that a new or less experienced owner wouldn’t know how to handle. And that’s okay.

For me, my free dog was a blessing. My expensive dog was a breed I wanted as a puppy but were hard to find in shelters or rescues. No more puppies for me, ever. My new dog is a breed I’ve wanted for over 20 years, and I’ve never seen one in a shelter. So I’m quasi-adopting her. She 4, so not a puppy.
