JC there’s this version of “Last Christmas” they play on the radio that is just atrocious. Like, I can’t even describe how syrupy and over produced this version is. It seriously makes my anus constrict to the size of a pencil tip every time I hear it.
It doesn’t have any of the somberness of the original version of the song. It starts out with the back up singers going, “Ba ba, ba-ba, ba,” for crying out loud! I always picture the Muppets singing it LOL!
Do any of you have any popular Christmas songs that just make you cringe?
For some odd reason this thread made me think of this one crazy friend I had in the Air Force, Paul. One day Paul and I and this other airman were outside the dorms and we were all complaining about the giant roaches. Then Paul said something like, “I like to cut the heads off the roaches and put them on toothpicks so it warns the other ones not to come in.” I thought it was fricken hilarious but the third airman there was like seriously psychologically disturbed by it. He said something like, “Dude…that’s just fucked up man!”
LoL that’s pretty messed up. I’m not sure if most roaches are smart enough to have that reaction… but odds are at least one is and that’s a silly thought
Yeah, ya had to kind of know Paul well to get his humor. Bless his soul though. He got out of his enlistment early on a failure to adapt rap/loophole. I think he also has sz. The last I heard from him he swore there was an intelligence agency spying on veterans.
I hate most Christmas music! After hearing the same songs, year after year, after year, after year… BLECH!! It’s all so cringe now!! The old stuff is .. too OLD. The new stuff is.. just garbage!!
Hahaha nah, I totally understand, @Blossom . It gets so shoved down our throats around every Christmas and you hear it EVERYWHERE you go. It’s like Invasion of the Body-Snatchers, but with music or something LOL.
I enjoy a lot of the old classic Christmas music. I find it really relaxing. I can’t stand a lot of the newer stuff, or the pop stuff.
