What are the symptoms you have?
I used to. But I stopped eating butter and it came down to normal levels. I had no symptoms.
I had a bit high, got it down by reducing saturated fat.
No symptoms.
Now I only drink nutrient drinks from the pharmacy because of swallowing issues. I hope it doesn’t make my cholesterol high again, but I have no other choice but to live on them at the moment.
I think exercise and diet are the main natural ways to bring cholesterol down?
My HDL is a little higher than average, my LDL is in the normal range, my triglycerides are good, too…
All of mine were to high whatever that means
Yes I take a statin to help it
Didn’t really have any symptoms that I noticed
They said genetic so no way to control with diet
I have mildly elevated cholesterol. I eat a low cholesterol diet so my dr ran a test and I’m genetically predisposed to high cholesterol regardless of my diet. But it’s not high yet just slightly elevated. No need for treatment
Normal levels thank goodness
I take a Statin
it was slightly low this time … usually slightly high … I don’t know how to interpret the results though.
I bet I do. I’m pretty sure I had high cholesterol due to genetic disposition in 2019; the doctor who told me said I was a walking time bomb for a heart attack at the time. Father and grandfather both had it, and both experienced heart problems too.
I never did have a heart attack, and if anything my heart is very strong or functional according to all the doctors who’ve seen me since 2019.
Guess I lucked out, becauae I’m not smoking 4 packs a day, going to university and working in a restaurant or using modafinil all the while doing those things.
i also take a statin to lower my cholesterol…I eat what I want.
I got the cholesterol of a 75 year old man
YEs, I take atorvastatin for it. I dont know that I have noticable symptoms, though.
Me too, just started a statin. My lipoprotein a levels were really high. I was taking red yeast rice and it did help, but they said my ldl needed to be even lower. I have high triglycerides too.
Yes, got it from the zyprexa… ![]()
I cant follow diets, so i was put on a statin, yeap…
No symptoms from it though yet…

I just read my lab they sent me. I have high cholesterol and a few other things. Im not diabetic. I may have to take omega 3s again.
Have you ever had a yearly blood draw?
I take rosuvastatin now instead of red yeast rice. I hope it helps.
My ldl before red yeast rice was 324 total, 215 ldl, 60 hdl, 270 triglycerides.
After a few months of red yeast rice 194 total, 119 ldl, 43 hdl, 199 triglycerides. I was also on a a very low fat whole food plant based diet.
They want my ldl under 100, so now I am taking rosuvastatin 5mg. I stopped the red yeast rice, because I’m not supposed to take both. Hopefully the rosuvastatin works even better. No side effects so far.
I am going to ease up on the diet a little, as I need more variety to stay consistent. I am going to allow olive oil in small amounts, nuts in small amounts, some cheese 1-2 oz a day. Chicken that is boneless and skinless, and one egg a day if I want. So the only meat is skinless chicken, up to 2-3 times a week. Oatmeal everyday. Salads, and cooked veggies. Fruit in moderation. I might as well enjoy my food more if I’m on cholesterol medication. My doctor also told me no gluten due to positive celiac blood test.
I hope that’s healthy enough to keep it down. No matter what antipsychotic I take, my cholesterol is still too high. They said mine is probably genetic. I tried my best to do it without a cholesterol med, but they said it wasn’t enough. Maybe it will work out better? Supplements are spendy. Zero copay for the cholesterol medicine, so at the very least I’m saving money!
Anyone have a diet that has helped their cholesterol? Keto makes my triglycerides better, but ldl goes up before statins (not sure if it would be better now on a statin). I do take 3 grams of omega 3 a day too. Triglycerides still high. May need to revisit lowering carbs slightly if the triglycerides don’t improve.
Zyprexa made mine really high too. On abilify now.
Oh yeah, zyprexa is like that.
But i go literally mentally worse on every other ap, i tried 13 of them, so i can’t change my zyprexa lol…
I try to eat healthier now, i take also some supps and vitamins and for now, am relatively in good health still.
But yes, the diets werent helping my cholesterol, so i take one quite light statin, also metformin too in fact, cause the same again from my ap- high insulin resistance wow…
Hugggies

My problem with zyprexa is it made me so depressed! Then the crazy cholesterol! Back on abilify now. I’ve tried just about everything minus a couple ap’s. So I get it!
