Does anybody know who's alive or dead or sick or healthy anymore?

I don’t know about anybody else…maybe its just because I dont really use Facebook that much for it to get a read on my preferences…but they seem to have assumed that I like fake AI pics of celebrities that have “died” or or on their last leg in the hospital.

My feed seems to have become about 20% freinds and family and then a mix of dead and dying celebrities, pretty young women doing something or another, Animals in need of rescue, funny animal clips, game advertisements and some religious stuff.

I dont remember choosing these preferences but somehow they picked them for me.

I remember a time when your timeline was almost exclusively freinds and family posts. In recent years it has evolved into something else. The majority of the content is not chosen by you, but appears to be selected by some mysterious method.

But I guess where else are you going to learn of Sylvester Stallones death and Scarlett Johanson mysterious illness that’s making her sick and near death. 😕😕

(No worries folks, both Rocky and the Black Widow are alive and well to the best of my knowledge)

I dont use social media. For me its usually the case if a celebrity under 40 dies in the news I have no idea who they are. If over 40 I know of them 95% of the time.

The posts I’m talking about are almost always AI fakes. If the amount of celebrities that my feed has said died were actually dead, we would have lost around half the population of California.

There is recently a tabloid being read in front of me at my therapist and it said that Dolly Parton was on her last legs and she was going to die but I looked it up and it’s all made up

They got me all wrong.

I get a lot of older celebrities on my algorithm feed on Facebook and for some reason a lot of aged Heavy Metal rockstars.

Probably because of my advancing age, I don’t know.

I don’t really use social media all that much, it just feels filled with worthless torrent of misinformation and propaganda, and generally un-useful content. But perhaps the trick is that people are locked in and unwisely invested in the social networks kidnapped by big business for their own benefit and being relentlessly manipulated by moneyd interests. Just IT power corrupts and enshittifies everything it touches if there is no pushback or maybe people just like brainrot in general, who knows.
