I feel you, kinda. I also take quetiapine. I started having spasms in my arms years ago, and now they are also in my legs. I had been working with my pdoc’s physician assistant when this started, and she labelled it RLS. That never sat right with me, though. I called them spasms. Now she left the pdoc’s practice, and I brought it up to the pdoc. Pdoc says it sounds more like my tardive dyskinesia. We lowered my quetiapine by 100mg to see if that will help.

I had it on generic zyprexa. It was a problem as it affected sleep.

Benztropine. If that don’t work. Higher the dose. Highest dose. If that don’t work switch meds. Repeat.

I wish this had worked for me. I’m on the highest dose of diazepam as-needed (10mg). I’m scared to switch meds because I’m able to work a few hours each week rn. I don’t think I can go higher on the benzos because I don’t think there IS a higher dose of diazepam. Nothing helps me. I end up having to get up and move around until I’m so tired that I end up falling asleep sitting up. It’s amazing I haven’t smacked my husband when my arms flail around!

I am on quietiapine 100mg per night, and had spasms too. The doc called it restless leg sydrome but chat gpt said it could be myoclonus or something, cause i see flashing lights at night too. My doc said to reduce my quietiapine by 25mg.

It seems like a lot of us are having issues with this on quetiapine. Hmmm.

Yes, it’s because of my akathisia. My feet bounce a bit as I try to fall asleep.

Yeah I do, and I don’t think its my meds because when I got off them it continued.

I do. Not every night. But some nights I get it.

Did you just relapsed recently? There are meds to stop the restless legs but it’s pointless since it adds other forms of side effects…just get abilify and stay on it…
