Im on week 2 or 3 now, dont really remember, with Aripiprazol abilify medicine and Ive felt really restless ever since the first days. However it has been getting a little bit better and I can actually sit still for more than 5 minutes, but I still feel it and have to take hour long walks every day.
I also felt very restless with olanzapine but that restlessness never went away.
Have anyone here ever experienced the restlessness ever going away completely or is my only choice switching meds or getting a lower dose if I want to get rid if this side effect?
I had bad akathisia in the 80’s, it got better slowly and now I don’t have it and I can relax. I think switching from Prolixen to resperidone might have helped. Now I’m on Invega Sustenna and Seroquel and I can relax for hours and days on end.
I got really bad Akathisia when I was on Abilify too. Had to suffer through it for a month or 2 until my doc switched to a different AP. Sometimes exercising can help a little, but it never went completely away. I think I was on 20mg.
Had akathisia, restlessness, on Latuda 80mg without psychosis.
There is restlessness and agitation from psychosis itself and from meds. On 6mg risperidone I have no restlessness or agitation and no positive symptoms but when dropping the dose to 3mg there is restlessness from agitation or subthreshold psychosis symptoms.
