IDK, NBC or ABC or one of them used to have the slogan “Must watch TV” about hit TV programs that were really good. Do we still have those? I don’t watch enough TV to really offer anything insightful except my sister and her then-boyfriend had a few of the newer TV shows they tried to get me interested in because they were following them.
I watched and tried to like the shows but they just didn’t interest me at all. There was a comedy called “Ted Lasso” they were raving about but I found it to be a third rate, unfunny show that I didn’t care about. Are there any shows like MASH on. any more that are appealing to millions of people for whole seasons and years? Or All in the Family where you dropped everything to watch it every week and made sure you never missed an episode?
I tried watching new sitcoms on Roku to deliberately try and get interested in something new to me but found them unfunny. Fallout is good@SzSupportAdmin, I’m hooked, I finished the first season, but I almost stopped watching it in the beginning episodes because it made no sense to me and I didn’t understand what was going on.
I was hooked by about halfway through the third episode or fourth episode. It’s violent as hell, when he cut off her finger I had to look away from my laptop, that was pretty graphic, lol. By about the 5th season I still had a couple doubts because the lead (what’s her name, Ella Burnell?) seemed to be laughing while she was acting and I found it a little hard to take her seriously but now I like her and she’s fine. I still think she acts a little too blasé at all these new situations she gets into. It’s great if she’s brave and nothing phases her but she takes too much in stride.
That’s my only complaint now except that gettting access to all these important locations seems awful, almost unbelievably easy. The brother goes exploring new vaults with ease at will. And in episode 8, I think it was, the girl is in the vault and warned not to go to Level 12 and of course she goes there but the ease she’s able to get into sacred, important areas is a little suspect. Those last two are my only complaints, I’m glad you got me watching it, it’s great.
Maaaan, TV shows in the 80s were so lit. I mean we had stuff like Alf. An alien that eats cats. I think today’s screenwriters don’t smoke enough weed LOL.
I’m younger(26 years old) so I can’t say I lived during the older shows
But I saw several iconic older shows like Buffy The vampire slayer, Malcolm, My wife and kids, How I met your mother, The office(didn’t finish yet though), Big Bang theory
They were all great
New shows that are popular are not necessarily great and it takes more time to find a great show I think
I still found interesting new shows though like Sex education, The end of the f*cking world, Pluribus, Severance
So I would say there are still interesting shows, just it takes more time to find them and maybe there are less than before
I love the show married with children, I like George carlin, I like philosophy videos on YouTube, I like it’s always sunny in Philadelphia. It goes on and on… I’m never bored. I got books galore. But when my energy is low I don’t feel like doing anything then I get little pleasure.
