Employment Hunt/School Prospects

The current university i’m with, the distance learning one - is open to me switching to postgrad studies but the course is more for working professionals and less for academic professionals. So it means skills for the workplace more and less research on academic matters. It’s also distance learning which means even more loneliness if I chose this option. It’s a Finance course, Finance MSc.

Another university has said to me, that I can re-do the final semester work, plus a bit more, at their university which is lcoated in central london; so only like 40 minutes away from me. Closer than the actual university i did my original degree in in terms of commuter time. It would also give me an edge in application for their masters programme (in Economics).

EMployment wise, I’m not sure what to do other than continue looking for places to apply to. I got emailed back by a company that does the sort of work that @Ish suggested to me. But because I don’t have the certificate for it, (autism awareness work) I am stuck wondering if they’ll even bother progressing my application.

McDonalds haven’t contacted me, the restauarants I applied to haven’t contacted me either. There’s a restaurant in the Town Centre which is hiring and I’ll walk over there tomorrow and hand it a CV in hopes I can be one of the waiting staff members.

Otherwise I’m out of options for changing my situation atm, doing what I can, but clearly not enough.

@Mr.Apple what I do is kind of a stop gap until I find something suitable in office work. I know how hard it is at the moment. my partner was made rudentant a couple of weeks ago and already has over 10 rejection emails. It’s hard but keep going… you will find something

I hear you. At the moment, I’m not searching for work as much as I was last week. I’m going to hand in my CV and try build rapport with the restaurant owner in town who’s hiring. Otherwise, I’ll go back to trying to just manage stress.

Thank you, I hope someone gives him his break from unemployment, it’s a tricky time to be made redundant :-1:

I’ve been there @Mr.Apple . I know when even fast food joints don’t call, you feel lousy. But oftentimes it’s because you’re overqualified and they assume you’ll leave as soon as possible. It costs money to train new people and managers and owners want the people they train to stay long enough to offset the cost. Hang in there and keep applying!
