Hello, my doc removed olanzapine because it gave me horrible akathisisa and has prescribed abilify 10mg instead. Does someone here have any good experiences on it? I keep only finding bad reviews online 
its so expensive too

I was taking 90mg abilify.

It was a high dose. As symptoms were coming back, we gradually increased doses till we reached 90. I have tried olanzapine, risperidone and more

I like it, but it has some side-effects in the beginning. Mostly nausea and activation, the latter is like drinking too much coffee. Those effects stopped after 2 months with me and it’s been pretty good now. Versus olanzapine there’s less weight gain as well. Not sure about the costs, falls under insurance here.

I personally like abilify myself.
I started off on 15mg, but after having my first child I upped it to 20mg.
It seems to work perfect for me..
I was on invega before and it gave me weird side effects.
I feel pretty normal on the abilify

Abilify has less side effects for me.
It doesn’t cause weight gain
But it does mess with my balls

Works fine for me, except I’m on a high dose. When the dose goes down I might be able to work better because there’ll be less insomnia and daytime tiredness.

I think it is good. It really depends on the person but i like it.
It has less anticholinergic properties

I started out on a low dose to titrate up and had pretty bad restlessness. Luckily it went away though.
Been on Abilify since 2019, and I’m currently at 20mg/daily.
Doesn’t take away all the symptoms, but I suppose it’s better than being unmedicated.

Dont get me wrong it has side effects, but i think its the best option for me.

Im on 5 (came down from 15,10,) it works well for me and has done for 15 years.

I was restless on it and it gave me too much energy kinda manic, was always outside the house hanging out all day with multiple friends and it made me spend lots of money. Now on risperidone I almost never spend unless its essential. I feel much calmer on risperidone and less agitated or restless

Hi, I initially took 5mg of Abilify for prolactin. Now I’m on 7.5mg going to 10mg. Already paranoia is far reduced!

I was on Abilify 15mg and I had such bad akathisia I felt like I was jumping out of my skin even with Klonopin, propranolol and benztropine on board

I did try Abilify and as consequence was on a med induced confused state for a while, pretty bad memories from that.

I have been taking Abilify10mg for close to 26 years with no side effects or issues weightgain in the beginning but it has tapered off A lot
