Feeling very sad TW

I don’t know if my father’s death has triggered this but now I’m in the throes of a deep depression.

It’s beyond grief now.

I think that I should contact someone because honestly I don’t want to be here anymore

I don’t have the strength to go on

@Wave make a list of the things that make you happy, that you are grateful for and put it on your fridge.

Also maybe get a book from the library.

And maybe watch a film

I’m listening to some Japanese soul on vinyl right now, it takes some effort to seek out the things that make us happy but once you know where to find it you can reach out to it whenever you want.

I hope you feel better man

It’s evening now, and I feel depressed and confused. Usually every evening, before bed, I get the blues. Don’t know why

Oh thank you so much my dear friends.

Thankfully I’m no longer feeling so low like I did earlier.

I got a chance to speak to my brother and his girlfriend a couple of times since then.

I must say that my brother has been standing by me since our fathers passing

He’s been extremely supportive and so have my other family members.

I will reach out to my doctor on Monday.

He mentioned Lamictal last time we spoke

Hope you feel better soon @Wave I’m also in a deep depression. In fact I also had a family tragic occurrence I think it triggered my relapse last month. My mom’s diagnosis of dementia made me realise I’m slowly losing her…and she’s 81 already.

I’m so chronically depressed (but not always severely) that I barely notice it anymore. I was kinda surprised when my dr told me I’m depressed and need an antidepressant. I stupidly said I don’t need one, I thought my lamictal would suffice…but it seems it doesn’t. So I’m going to ask him next time for antidepressant. I’ve been on Citalopram before which was really helpful.

Lamictal is a good med, I hope you can benefit from it. I’m on 250mg of it.

I’m glad to hear you are feeling better now & I hope this continues,

I just wanted to say that in situations like this what has helped me is to remember what your father would have wanted, for instance… my Father was a bit of a joker and so I know he wouldn’t want me to take his death badly, I knew he would want me to just carry on and get on with it, I hope this is the same for you, I find it is similar for a lot of people but it is easy to be blinded by grief.
