A cynical view of friends is interpreting it as free ends, such that its a relation that people can use you as means to an end or various ends. An end is something extraneous to the bond which if truly honest would be an end in itself. Friend as far as I know doesnt have that etymology it is kind of just a play on words.

I have friends I have for almost/around 10 years

We accept each other, can joke, talk about our issues together

I have more recent friends too, with some I can talk about anything, with some we just talk about pleasant things together

How can we be friends with ourselfs when we are our own hardest critics? Some of the language we use on ourself we wouldn’t use it on anyone else. Friends or not.

Ye…the idea of being friends with oneself sounds weird. Cos its like just me and me. Sounds boring. But i think one has to find a way to love oneself. Like who they are warts and all. I have never done it before. Tbh. And i think if i try maybe there are perks to loving oneself 100 percent.

A friend doesn’t judge me. They genuinely care about me. They will answer the phone at 11:00 PM and help me, no matter how inconvenient it is for them.

And I will do the same for them.

I keep changing friends because I get mad at them for stupid things. Others tell me there is no perfect friends and I have to accept their flaws, no one is perfect. I changed friends more than 5 times since I got sz, I need emotional stability. I blocked a friend this year because he lied to me. I blocked another because he doesn’t have a car and wanted me to always pick him up. I feel like he was using me for rides. Not my problem he doesn’t have a car, I told him to take the bus and he got mad like if I insulted him.
