This is a middle ground to what I was saying before about it taking so long to clean out picture threads.
There are 2 reasons for trying 700.
#1. When I clean out a thread like “say anything” of uploads, while loading up 1000 posts and deleting the uploads the thread starts to become unstable and it takes probably 3 times as long to get them perm deleted because the pop up verifications load up extremely slow as you load up more and more of the threads.
#2 on threads like the selfie threads it takes probably a half hour to clean out threads containing 300 posts or so if I have to clean the whole thread. If its just the pictures it probably takes less. This is a middle ground to what I was trying to do before and clean them out at 250 to 300 and waiting until 1000 posts. This way it probably will only take about an hour to clean out the threads instead of an hour and a half.
I currently also am cleaning out threads with no replies for 14 days and locking them. I doubled what we were doing before.
I realize this may seem like I’m being lazy a bit, but I am dedicating a fair amount of time to server maintenance, and i dont want it to become so much of a chore that I dont get it done sufficiently to keep storage space used to a minimum.
Speaking of storage space, because of the increased “14 days with no reply”, more picture threads, and increased delay on cleaning picture threads, our space used has jumped up to 5.4%. It should not be a big deal though. It should be stabilizing here soon as some of the delayed picture threads near cleaning time.
