My cousin is saying I could save 60 dollars on my internet by going with A T and T…that’s his solution for me being broke on a fixed income…my small town has an internet service that’s fine, just over a hundred dollars…I like that I can call them if I have troubles…a t and t in this small town wouldn’t be able to help me…so I don’t want to do it…he won’t let it go…he make 52 dollars an hour as a psych nurse and has a posh life. It hurt my feelings and then I started getting mad when he wouldn’t drop it…we had words…I’m still mad.

I discovered that my Starlink dish runs at half a megabit (512 Kbps) for $7.35/mth. Good enough for Web surfing and email without video. Cheap option?

the thing is he was like “you got to be wasting money somewhere”…made me read him my bills list and then couldn’t see why I was so broke….wouldn’t listen to reason.

Well, this is going to be an unpopular opinion but…. He’s only trying to help. I guess if he saw you were mad he should have let it go and left you alone.
Do you make a monthly budget? It might help to write down where your moneys going. Write down your monthly bills, and write down your income and write down exactly where the rest of your money is going to. It helps to have it all together written down in front of you so you know if you’re wasting any money.
@77nick77 he was a jerk about it…yes the ONLY way I make it month to month is to know months ahead what bills are coming in…thanks.

I am admittedly comfortable now and I am appropriately grateful. I would sneak food out of garbage cans as a preteen because I was fed that poorly at home. I understand what poverty is and my fear of returning to it is very real. It’s also why I support school lunch programs so vociferously; no kid should have to eat out of the garbage.
