Hanna Foxx inspired me to post here and write another book

Here’s a little bit of the book I’m writing:

Manifesting a Quiet and Peaceful Life That You Like

Prompt 1: When did you first know that the life you were living wasn’t the life you actually wanted? Was there a moment, or was it a slow erosion?

Back in the summer of 2022 I realized that I wanted to get off of social media. I think it was July 4th? We were cooking out on a mini grill and trying to start a fire. I had been away from my phone all day and a sense of calm had taken over me. I realized that social media had taken away from my peace, and even though I was having a quiet moment; I was still “on”. I still had that fear of missing out. That day I decided to detox. I detoxed for 6 months and felt instantaneously better. Then things changed. Around 2025 I redownloaded Instagram and became addicted. I wasn’t living the life I wanted to live. Although life was quiet, it was noisy because I wanted someone else’s life. That’s when I set out on a journey to have a mentally peaceful life.

Prompt 2: What did your loudest, busiest season cost you — and did you know the price while you were paying it?

I’ve never really had a loud life. It’s always been kind of quiet. It’s never been quite busy especially as a teen. Even when I had a punk band and the house was filled with the sounds of drums and rogue chords. Even then, the quiet would quickly fill in. We never invited anyone over, we never answered the door. The neighbors weren’t borrowing sugar. We stayed to ourselves and that’s how we manifested a quiet life. One where we spent time with our hobbies, each at different parts of the house. Then after doing that we came back together to break bread and have cook outs. Where we’d go outside at the end of the evening and watch the sunset while riding our bikes until the streetlights came on. However, when social media started becoming addictive was when I felt inferior. That quiet life then turned into a life of comparisons and longing for success, traveling, parties, and fancy food. I wasn’t grateful for the life I had. I hated it.
