For some reason I feel like my mind isn’t feeling so well. I’m having memory problems and my system is weak. Looking to take some brain supplements. I don’t know what to do.
Some brain supplements are bad for sz. Run them by your Dr. I also have some motivation and cognitive problems but they improved slightly 3 years ago. I think the longer you have no psychosis the better it becomes. Improvement is slow and takes more than a year.
I was thinking about taking Lions mane. Which vitamin or supplement do you reccomend?
I have tried almost everything they either did not work or caused anxiety. The only one that helped is Huperzine A but it caused anxiety. Stay away from mucuna pruriens as it contains ldopa and it almost made me psychotic and go to the emergency.
Now I only take fish oil, multivitamin and calcium/magnesium/Vitamin D all in one.
Take L-theanine 400mg and curcurmin.
That seems good to take. Lions mane helped me before.
I remember that after experiencing psychosis it took quite some time to recover somewhat, but still, this disease cripples mind anyway more or less over time. I have tried some supplements and even nootropics, but at the end of day there would have to be some upcoming drug fighting the disease. And yes, at some point I used Amyloban 3399 which is a Lions mane concentrate, it may help but it is pretty expensive as far supplements go and it has pretty limited evidence supporting using it.
Do you take any vitamins or supplements now. I’m eating a lot of egg, Avocado, and fish.
My whole life is deteriorating.
I take multivitamin if I feel like I am not eating enough. As schizophrenia specific supplements I use Sarcosine and Sodium benzoate and N-Acetyl-Cysteine for NMDAR receptor support. But I am still open to try nootropics or the new drugs coming to market in not too distant future, like Tazbentetol, Evenamide or Roluperidone - or really any new and effective treatments for schizophrenia or just general mental deterioration as I age. But egg, avocado and fish especially is good, that is true - maybe just not enough considering this disease.
I take Omega 3 and vitamin d. I did take vitamin b complex but my DR told me my b12 levels were high!
I feel im losing memory and ability to spell
I take nac, sarcosine and enough glycine in the form of chicken feet, also saffron extract, ltheanine ,all these I feel helped with my schizophrenia symptoms a bit, nac can increase negatives by a lot for sure
I am also taking creatine for exercise
