Have I done right?

Tonight at 1am I received call.Old neighbour called and asked me to help his wife who felt.I jumped and went downstairs to help.It wasn’t easy,she was very heavy,but I managed to get her sit on bed. Bought her and him are arond 85 years … I refused money ..

Today he was asking me to go to a store for some fruit.I went and when finished,went back to him.

He said that I can buy for me the same..

I didn’t ..

Then I gave him 5$ change,and he said take it .After saying no,I finally took it.

I feel little bad for it. Have I done ok,the deal?

I don’t think you did anything wrong.

Do you feel like you want to keep helping them?

Or are they taking advantage of you?

I often cary his bags from store,done it for ten times now and bring to his door ..

Yes, you did good. Sometimes we try to do things just because it is right to do, and when there is small reward feel not right for taking it, whereas without reward would feel good. You should feel good anyway.

He’s just trying to thank you. Maybe next time you could say to give whatever they want to give you to a charity instead of you don’t want to accept money. You did well. And it was ok to accept the money.

I’m going daily for fruit for my neighbour.

Today I went to by him cherries,melon and he said as I go to by me something ..

I said he can give me a tip,as I’m broke until tomorrow .. He said ok.Gave me dollar ..

Since it was little I wouldn’t mind.He also showed me how to open his door if his wife falls down again.

I don’t feel ashamed,yesterday I didn’t want to take tip.I ment occasionally ..

Also,since it’s heavy to bring him,and go to a truck where man sales it,and it’s not near.I don’t think it’s wrong ..

Update:TW

It turned that i serve him for everything …

I mean,getting 10 kgs watermelon every day was tough,but in three days,I washed his laundry,mostly stained with his wife’s sh!t…

Today it was gross,cause it smelled terrible,and i used my stain remover and detergent to wash it.

I’m not really happy about that,cause I wasted half of vanish.

I said,when I called him my price for washing crappie sheets.

Now I feel at ease…

Washing three times is over my limitations .. So he agreed to pay 6€ for that…

He even asked is that enough ..

@Wave @Lilyofthevalley I’m not smart what to do..

This 'job" is a bit complicated ,but on my pension that is 270 $,I could use 70$more … And it’s 5 minutes job… (without washing crap)..

If you’re willing to do it, and they’re willing to pay what you feel is worth it, then I think it’s good. It’s helpful monetarily and helping others feels good too
