All day everyday past 25 ■■■■■■■ years.
I told my mom what was happening and she grounded me for lying and said no cop would ever do that. Plus, the neighbors knew I was taking babysitting jobs and raking leaves etc for money in order to go to the store to buy my food so I could eat. 2 adults helped me: one was the lunch lady who let me work the cafeteria at school during lunches in exchange for s free lunch, and a lady down the street who sometimes invited me over for dinner. Back then no one got involved in domestic matters like that. I’ve talked about some of it in therapy @Honeysuckle
Wow I am so sad for you. And angry for you. I’ve had harassment from older boys but nothing like you just described. I honestly don’t know what else to say. I hope you do have a better life now bc you certainly deserve it. Take care.
Thanks @Batik21 . Yes, my life is very good now. I have great kids, a kind and loving husband, a little fur baby doggy, a home and while it’s hard, I do have food on my table. I’m very grateful for my life now.
I second what @Batik21 said. You really deserve some serious happiness in life. What is your fur baby’s name?
I have but I don’t want to repeat it, it has happened a number of times, things I can’t say but I was the victim in all of the cases, not trauma, but harassment, being accused of things that were not true, or getting abuse for no reason, I hope all those people who were involved in that are sorry for what they did.
Thanks! She’s a little Tibetan Spaniel named Rosie. She only wants to be in my arms or laying on my side. She’s not fond of other pets or people though but she’s a rescue with a tough background. She was in a puppy mill being bred and locked in a cage. Then they streeted her and she was finally rescued. She has many fears and trauma, but she’s totally at peace if she’s in my arms.
I had a dog like that once. He was my buddy and constant companion, always glued to my side. I loved him so much and miss him to this day. I lost him about 16 years ago now.
I’m sorry he’s gone now ![]()
Remaining grateful is hard sometimes in the face adversity. I struggle with it. But I really am forever grateful to my wife for standing by me through all these difficult times. I have often felt I created schizophrenia myself out of whole cloth, which of course is not true. I’m grateful for my three kids and my three grandkids. My mom and my sister. I know plenty of people have supported me. I don’t know what the saying is but it’s something like - I have achieved what I have achieved because I have stood on the shoulders of Giants. I think sometimes we don’t realize who those giants are in our lives until bad things happen. Like your husband. It doesn’t erase the cruelty you’ve faced of course. Take care of yourself.
Some guy shook my hand and took his finger and fingered my hand while he was shaking my hand. If you can picture that. It really pissed me off.
I had been nice to him up to that point because I believe in being kind to homosexuals. I guess he took that as an in.
Thanks @Batik21 . You have a great attitude. And I love that saying
I’m glad you have things to be grateful for too.
