How can you get your body/ figure back?

A couple months ago my body used to look better but developed more flabby underarms lately. I don’t know why. It is really disconcerting. Maybe I have to start lifting weight to tone my arms. Two years ago I was on the keto diet and lost weight but now I’m vegan and haven’t gained or lost weight. How can you get your figure/ body back?

It’s a combination of healthy eating, and exercising muscles that help you look more toned. You need both.

If you are on a vegan diet maybe you are not getting enough protein?

Protein helps build muscles

Plus a weightloss drug imo because that’s just how strong antipsychotics are in terms of metabolic interference

I wanted to add, weightloss drugs are designed to correct blood sugar problems not induce weightloss. And blood sugar problems (plus hormonal problems) are caused as side effects of antipsychotics.

for anyone who’s interested in meds like Wegovy - you should definitely ask your doc if they’d consider it to correct metabolic issues caused by the antipsychotics

You are not supposed to be responsible and suffering because of medicine , doctors should be doing more for psychiatric patients who are being metabolically impaired (significant number of us)

That’s not quite right. They use a hormone to modulate digestive processes. This has the effect of stabilizing blood sugar. It also has a knock-on effect of regulating appetite as slowed digestion improves satiety. You eat less, less often, yet still feel filled.

IF you are eating less, you are making healthy choices and restricting calories so that you have a deficit at the end of the day/week and you are increasing exercise, you will lose weight. Losing weight is easier when you’re not starving all the time, a problem I no longer have when on the Wegovy.

And before anyone points out that you regain the weight when you go off, I don’t have to. My insurer has a policy where they authorize ongoing maintenance with Wegovy if you lose at least 5% of your weight. I have lost 50%.

OMG yes. I was always a bit chunky, but I never had the unending hunger and horrible obesity until I was put on Zyprexa. I could not stop eating when I was on that Devil Med. It’s feckin’ evil. Once I was off it, I could sort of control eating less, but I was always always starving. It messed me up somehow because my appetite regulation was blown to hell by it and never recovered.

I hope every single person involved in creating that pill dies from a virulent hybrid of herpes and rabies with some ebola thrown in for fun.

Why do doctors downplay how bad it is, zyperxia was my first AP too - nasty work

You should avoid eating fat and run daily at least a mile. (What I’m going to do this new year)

My wife eats high fat and low carb. Curbed her appetite, shed plenty of water and pounds, better energy and sleep, brought her acne and mood under control. Works for her!

As for me; Im ashamed to say I look terrible. And a photo memory came up recently from my boxing days. Looked pretty amazing.

Thanks to 20 mg of Zyprexa and 1 mg of risperidone. I’m back to working again. I can only work part time as of right now, but that’s better than the 10 years I spent sitting on my couch, feeling horrible and very fearful all the time I still have fears and issues and beliefs, but I’m just calm enough to get out of the house.

I have anxiety when I’m out of the house walking. Sometimes I can’t get home soon enough.

Ive struggled the last 2 weeks to go further from my home town. I want to go into the city area, which is just 20mins on the train. But everytime I get to the platform here, I freak out and start getting messages that Im in danger. So I end up going back home. Very frustrating.

Maybe go take the train with a friend. Once I wanted to take the subway when in Seoul,South Korea but I couldn’t muster up the courage to.

Thats the advice I was given by Psych. Its a grand idea. But all my friends work. And none would be up for an 8am trip to central London so I can go to an Eastern Divine Liturgy for 3 hours :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Im alone in that regard. But tomorrow Im going to try again. Can only keep trying!

Can you maybe go somewhere a bit outside of the zone that is not all the way to town to try and stretch your limit? (That’s how I got past this issue.)

I do a bit. I go in the other direction by bus, maybe a mile or so. But seem to struggle with getting the train and going down into the city. There is nothing really for me elsewhere. Places of interest and so on.

There’s magic around you, everywhere, anywhere you happen to be. You just have to look at things from a different perspective.
