How many of you guys want to work, but know their will be those days or maybe weeks, when it will be impossible, cause I am on disability, but I want to work but I know myself, and the meds I take make me so groggy in the morning. So I know that it would be almost impossible for me,and I don’t want to get a job and then have to quit, or get fired. What y’all opinion on maybe y’all working but don’t know how it would work out.
I want to work but I’m just sick all the time maybe in the future
That’s very understanding, me as well, but I know you can meet people that way and that’s what I want the most meet new people, getting older it’s harder to meet people
I’m planning on going to church to meet people well that’s one of the reasons
I go to church also and that’s a great way too meet new people it’s a great way also and it’s usually good people
I don’t really want to work, can kinda, but with my health problems now would be really difficult. Also I did the math and I would have about the same money left over as I have now. No point.
When I got my first job three years after being diagnosed I was on an extremely large dose of prolixen, I was on 60 mg and they rarely give that high a dose of that particular medication anymore. I was so sedated at my job that I was dragging myself around all day. I told my parents I would just keep on going until I dropped in my tracks.
My psychiatrist slowly tapered me down after several months of just being exhausted. I ended up staying at the job for four years until I got addicted to crack and was smoking every chance I got and my friends were coming over at all hours of the night to party and it affected my attendance. I was addicted for the last several months of my job. Not saying everybody can do that but it shows you might overcome obstacles to working with desire and persistence.
I tried to get an office job and I liked it but I was too sick to continue. I left this past February. I’m trying to get healthy enough to work as my financial situation is bad.
I wish I could work. But I can’t.
I can only work a small part time + I will take extra shifts if I feel up to it.
I have had periods I was too sick to work in the past. I also went to work when I shouldn’t have, just out of pride. I regret that. There’s nothing wrong with throwing in the towel if your health is too poor.
I have a career coaching mma and bjj but my symptoms majorly get in the way where I really cant work right now
I want to work. But I can’t not because of this illness but another one. I vomit randomly throughout the day. That stops me applying for work because I know I’ll be a risking mess if I do.
As for the illness we share. Get on the lowest working dose. That will stop the grogginess. Be persistent with your healthcare team about it.
I retired in 2014.. all jobs I had it hated and quit like 90 percent of them
What does the doctor say?
I vomit really easily. I didn’t do that before schiz. I’m starting to think it’s the meds or something??
Yeah, me too, mornings are the worst, I throw up about once every three weeks or around there. I get nauseous easily.
I wish i could work. The day i was granted disability was a day of sorrow.
I hope in the future to be able to volunteer, the days are very long when you don’t have a job
