Get blankets and a space heater ready, have one room that you can keep warm. Do you know how to make emergency alcohol heaters in case the power goes off?

we have a gas heater in the living room…doesn’t need electricity to run.

Are you able to pick up mylar emergency blankets from a dollar store? They reflect almost 90% of your body heat back at you. They won’t prevent thermal loss through conduction if you’re sitting on something cold, but they cut down greatly on radiative heat loss. Like $1 each. Worth having around. We’ve got about ten in our home.
