As long as I’m on this forum, I will occasionally be making a boxing update. I don’t generally get a lot of responses to these posts, but what you gonna do? Boxing is not what it once was.
What killed boxing? Was it MMA?, was it the major fights moving behind a paywall? Was it the lack of stars? A combination of these things? Could it be the injuries? Seems unlikely considering American footballs contiued popularity. Something else?
Anyway, regardless of the sports decline, here are the fights I’m looking forward to :
Daniel Dubios vs Fabio Wardly 2 : If the rematch is anything like the first one, it will be a great fight. Before the first one Fabio Wardly was asked what dubios would be doing if he wasnt boxing and he responded “Bin Man”, which translates to “garbage man” in the US. To me, this was both disrespectful to Dubios and to the manual labor/menial labor professions. As if there is something wrong with these professions. Of course, during the leadup to the fight, Dubios used the obvious response, that he was “going to take the trash out”. I was happy to see that Dubios did indeed win the first on handily.
Fabio Wardly is billing this second fight as “revenge”, but I am both expecting and hoping that Dubios once again knocks him down a peg or 2.
Katie Taylor : I was primarly a major boxing fan from like Tyson to the era where the 2 Klitchsco brothers took over the heavyweight division, from the 80’s to maybe 2006 and then became a casual fan, until the last year or so when I have been going full force again. This has not afforded me the opportunity to see Katie Taylor. But I have heard that she was a major force in making womens boxing more prominent and am looking forward to seeing her in her retirement bout. The womans boxing matches can be very entertaining and this is a bout I am looking forward too.
Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua(AJ): This bout may or may not come about, but it is a big heavyweight fight and something I am looking forward to happening.
Usyk vs whoever he picks : Since he has forfeited his belts, I guess we just have to wait and see who he picks.
Moses Itaumas return to the ring : He dominated his last fight but gassed out in the 9th and lost. Looking forward to see what he can do on a reboot.
Most heavyweight fights. I enjoy the heavyweight division so I’ll watch pretty much any heavyweight fight they put on the cards.
Ben Whitaker vs Coner Wallace : Been impressed with whitaker so far.
Anyway, there are probably more, but those are the fights that come to mind off the top of my head.
My favorite boxers of all time include

Feel free to comment if you like.
Confident this post will be mostly ignored, but I like talking boxing, so its as much for me as for you.
I looked him up. It looks like he was active during the time when I was less inclined to follow boxing closely, so I probably missed him for the most part.
I watch it on DAZN primarily but sometimes there is a fight on Netflix. I have a package that allows me to watch teh pay per views for free. Its expensive but you can get a cheaper version where you dont have free PPV’s.
I think you got the reasons right. There’s been no fighter in years who captures the imagination of boxing fans both in and out of the ring. I don’t know many boxers after Tyson, maybe Lennox Lewis or Evander Holyfield but they had personalities and were instantly recognizable. I don’t know any of the boxers nowadays who I hear anything about. And MMA is much more real.
@SzSupportAdmin , do you ever watch Zuffa boxing? It’s free on paramount plus once you get the subscription. I have a subscription I got for a good deal and I might check that out. Do you know if it’s any good?
Yeah, I think he’s trying to take over boxing and making like UFC. I’m honestly not sure if its good for boxing or not but considering boxings current state, I’m not sure its a bad thing.
I have only read bits and pieces so am not 100% clued in to what the politics are and what exactly is going on there.
O crap nvm. I forgot about the no other social media rule.
I posted a link to a boxing forum
Edit: Heres what I posted on a boxing forum :
Are Dana White and Zuffa boxing good for the sport or no?

I’ve kind of been out of the loop for awhile until about a year ago. I know that boxing appears broken atm. Declining fans and becoming more and more of a niche sport.
But in a way, I am kind of conservative in my view of boxing. I’m not sure if I’m onboard for limiting fighter purses or eliminating the Alphabelt belts.
On the other hand, boxing is seriously in need of an overhaul and I totally agree the fights need to be made more available to the public so that the fan base can be rebuilt.
@SzSupportAdmin Have you seen the Humanoid Robots that fight in a boxing ring like that of UFC in China? The robots don’t fight very well but still entertaining as future iterations in the upcoming years will see improvements.
