Our diet soda consumption is getting out of control

Pretty much every single day I go to the dollar general and pick up a diet mountain dew and 3 pepsi zero’s. 4 2 liters. And every time, the next day they are gone.

This is way too much soda between the 2 of us, IMO.

A SodaStream machine cost $130. A four pack of soda mix cost $18 and makes 29 liters. CO2 cost $15 and carbonates 60 liters. So at $36 for soda mix that’s 87 cents per liter. That’s $1.74 for two liters. You probably pay over $2.50 for two liters. You save 76 cents per two liters with the Sodastream. You drink four a day, you would save $3.00 a day or $21 a week or $84 a month or $1000 a year. Plus all the gas money and wear and tear on your car to go to the store.

Do you have a job at the sodastream company? :winking_face_with_tongue:

I’m trying to drink more water on my meals. My mom warned me she knew stories from people with diabetes type 2 that have gone blind by only drink beverages in meals.

So, having listen to my mom, I’m trying to drink more water nowadays.

@SzSupportAdmin That’s a lot of sugar for those bottle of soft drinks. Ever considered Gatorade Zero? I have type 2 diabetes so I need to watch my blood-sugar levels.

I understand American food companies are trying to market their product to a certain portion of consumers. However, when health is involved there should be a limit to the amount of sugary drinks one can consume. I guess it’s also about control too.

These are all sugar free. Thats what diet and zero means in the soda titles. THey are still not good for you but there is no sugar.

Maybe replace half of that with ice water with fruit in it like flavorings?. Even diet soda hits your sodium levels. Alternate drinking a glass of soda with water. Might help.
