I asked for reviews of my photo portfolio and they gave me negative views. A 3/5. Here people gave me a 5/5. Im not sure if im a good photographer or mediocre. What do you think? If you need to see me photos again I’ll repost them.

I dont see you as narcissistic. When Ive gitten emotionally unstable over the years I get narcissistic in blaming others ie my parents, for everything. Narcissism is considered like an egotistical thing, but youre not being very egotistical. Youre actually open to criticism and kind of self conscious

Great work needs to have some kind of significance beyond being just technically very good. Theres many examples of great photography. Even standard National Geographic shots are all technically very good, but only some become truly great.
I love all of National Geographic’s photographs. I wish Inwas good enough to work for them.

Maybe you are good enough. Have you made a serious effort to become a NG photographer? If not dont sell yourself short.
I’m not sure how to apply lol I probably need more experience first.
If I could work for NG, I would like to photograph the daily lives of African villages.

Maybe try some anthroplogical style photography in your own city, document some local culture and start a photo blog…

Urban exploration sounds cool. If youre serious make a photo series on a topic, write an article about it or partner with a writer and shop it around.
I’m putting together my first photo book, and am about half way done. It’s called “Through the Void.”
Trying to write an intro to it too.
I dream to become a famous photographer or at least get my work in a museum.

That’s why I want an art gallery first. Apparently it’s an easy way to expose your work, same with instagram which I’m going to sign up for.
