I was at a clubhouse conference in Helsinki last year, was really good, I always like the way the Finnish treat people with Mi,
Over here the dr’s put people on meds but there is never a plan, your just on them. I tried to refuse meds at first but they held me down and forced it on me, sorry I have mixed feelings about it.
Do you ever wonder ‘what if its just cleared up?’ and the meds are the problem now, maybe its just me, I really wish that this was true.
I am one of the lucky people who have a good mental health team here in FInland.. I hear that people are put on medications and not properly monitored for them, just prescribed more pills so they would stop complaining, it’s a fund issue. I don’t know about other countries, but I guess things are relatively ok here, but there are also mistreatment happening. pills pills pills instead of therapy for example, mediaction is much cheaper way to treat a patient. I think this happens everywhere in the world, but overall I think Finnish healthcare does a ok job.
I also do wonder what life could be without any medication, I am critical of it as well, but then again I never want to go back to psychosis ever again. I rather take pills the rest of my life if it makes me stay sane. every time I have had relapses was when my medication was altered or changed. but I could say I am for medication. it helps people, like me. but I recognize that there are many MI issues that are not dealt with medication, and there should be more possibilities to go therapy and stuff like that.
I feel almost identical to you but its tricky for me, idk what is causing my cfs/me, it could just be life or it could be meds, if I could stop my med safely I would but yeah, I don’t want to trigger a relapse either.
