Smoking again, it didn't work. I feel as though I'm not ready to quit

I went all out this time, I used Zyban, Nicotine Patches and Nicotine Spray. I only managed 11 days, which is a joke considering the first time I used Zyban I did 2 months.

It sucks, I feel psychologically the issue is there. The Zyban fixes the withdrawal problem but then the psychological triggers afterwards after the initial week, I become weak.

I don’t think I’ll try to quit for another year or two now though. Unless I change minds and try again whilst I still have some Zyban. I don’t even feel bad. But I have resolved not to smoke indoors, because I realise it can be bad for my neighbour in the hallway and it’s terrible for my flat.

Man, I’m feeling stupid right now for writing like I’m not apologetic or regretful. But I just don’t think I’m ready. How many tries did it take you, for those who took multiple tries to quit and successfully did so? This was probably my 6th or 7th proper attempt.

Smoking affects antipsychotics

Yup, I feel less on edge when I don’t smoke. Almost like I’ll never have a psychotic episode if I don’t smoke and continue with the meds.

But alas. It’s a difficult habit to shake off

Try the smoking cessation meds. They’re great for the withdrawals. The rest is willpower imo

Does zyban make your voices worse?

Not for me, a lot of psychosis patients seem to use the wellbutrin brand as an antidepressant. So I think it’s generally safe tbh. Worth asking a doc about it for sure
