Anyone else find themselves thinking about doing something fun instead of doing it? I have OCD and get intrusive thoughts while doing stuff and I feel it ruins them so I end up worrying about doing something fun than doing it. Kinda makes you feel paralyzed and end up doing nothing instead.
My ocd goes away when I’m busy it’s when I’m doing nothing that the intrusive thoughts appear but im usually doing nothing because of anhedonia
I forgot about having fun. I guess, in a way, laying down and being on my laptop all day is fun. So is going out to eat I guess. I don’t go to the movies or watch live music or anything like that but I guess I have a little fun.
I tend to imagine myself doing something more than doing that too, mostly when it’s something to do alone outside
I’m not really sure what to give as advices
I thought a lot and decided I wanted change, so I decided to move out and recently I went abroad
I just chose a date and was decided to find a host one week before the start of my vacation, I found a host and then paid my Flixbus tickets
I was really anxious, but my will to visit another country was bigger than my anxiety so I didn’t run away
For my plan of moving out I didn’t pay airplane tickets yet as I don’t have a precise date to move out, I asked to my family if they’re ok with me living with them, and I have to do medical appointements before moving out, I want to travel before and be sure I will have money to live at my new place
I need to choose the date I take the airplane one month before leaving as my Godmother asked me to say one month early before coming (surely to clean a bit)
Maybe watch motivational videos before doing something fun
Yes I understand. Sorry that both of us think of doing fun stuff but never do so. I’ve got severe negative symptoms.
Yeah I can relate. I spend a lot of time thinking about going places or eating at nice restaurants but I’m pretty much a homebody these days. I think my negatives and anxiety keep me indoors a lot. I recently bought a skateboard and helmet and pads but I still haven’t used it.
