Tabla practice with recording

I recorded a quick jam earlier today.

Just off the cuff.

From absolute beginner to this in a few months.

Check it out!

Hope you like it?

That’s brilliant! You should build something around it ! Or sample part of it and build something around the sample.

Glad you liked it. That was the first time anyone has heard my tabla playing apart from my neighours that is

It is a great instrument.

I have recorded it in my daw so can work on a new track soon.

Nice sounds. I had a tabla as a boy but stabbed it with a screwdriver :screwdriver:  so I never played it.

Dreamt about the tabla last night coincidentally.

This is what I did to it this afternoon.

I added cello, a chorus and some electric vintage keys.

May add vocals and lyrics in the future.

@everhopeful What genre is this? I put ambient.

It is work in porgress, but you get the gist.

Enjoy and give me feedback please.

I’d leave it as a finished track. I wouldn’t mess with it. It’s superb.

I’m stumped on genre though.

But you’ve hit upon something with the tabla drums!

I transferred it over to my main account from the confidence you instilled @everhopeful

It was a true joy making it.

I put in under ‘World’ music genre because of the tabla of course.

Cheers

Thanks so much.

Feel free to tag me.

With the tabla I went from nothing to this just by doing less than 20 minutes a day in 4 months. My point is ‘don’t overdo it!’ This is a long term process so take your time with it. Before you know it you’ll be making some fantastic tunes.

Practice daily and then sleep on it. The sleep helps to formulate the practice in the mind. It embeds new neural pathways.

Then repeat the old lesson and build on it every day.

That is the trick and it works for all instruments too.

I have a long way to go with the guitar and I started from scratch all over again after a 4 month break.

Good luck with it!
