Took a hit on my benefits for medicare

I now have to start paying my own medicare benefits…my food stamps covered it until now but we make too much money to get food stamps anymore so the medicare premium is going to come out of both of our checks…boo…oh well…we’re still well off.

You can’t get money but have no responsibilities. Welcome to the middle class. We are too rich to get any extra medical or disability benefits, but too poor to pay the medical bills. He has health insurance but we are currently battling a $17,000 hospital bill that insurance refuses to cover. Everything comes with a price it seems.

I thought being on disability came with full medicare coverage? I’ve never had to pay. I even have Medicaid to supplement what Medicare doesn’t cover.

I know, I just didn’t know that was ever required of someone with disability.

I guess they are counting household income instead of individual

@Agent101g it comes out of the disability check unannounced…the money is taken out though…it’s a “silent” debt from social security.

Medicare has premiums plus you owe 20% of all medical care unless you have a supplemental insurance and then it’s copays and coinsurances. So lots of money out of pocket. The reason @Agent101g doesnt pay is because he also qualifies for Medicaid.
