I’m losing medical assistance at the end of the month and now will have to pay massive co pays on hospital stays , $2,000 per year for my meds, co pays for psych appointments..
I have to use Medicare advantage now because my assets are to high and I’m not working..
what a joke health care should be free if you’re disabled lols…
anyone else here have to use Medicare because they don’t qualify for MA?

I have medicare but I also have BCBS through my last employer the federal government. I get a disability check from the office of personnel management bc I qualified under their rules. With that I get to keep BCBS but they take like 700 out of that check for that coverage. So it’s my secondary abcd it’s my wife primary. I also get SSDI which is where the medicare comes from.

I have a Medicare advantage plan for insurance. I use GoodRx for prescriptions when it’s cheaper to use that than it is to use my insurance. I had all my regular scripts (except 2) changed to tier 1 drugs on my plan so my meds are free.
For dr copays and coinsurance, I found a hospital system where I qualify for free medical care and do all my appointments through them. I have many drs and health issues so that’s an enormous and significant amount of help.
So I pay a little over $200/ month for my insurance, $100-150 /mo for my 2 meds that aren’t tier 1, and only have to pay coinsurance and copays for medical care that is not necessary like for instance if I wanted to have a cosmetic procedure done.
It helps a ton!
