Watching movies with your spouse - and other bad choices

I dont mind watching movies and series with my spouse. What can get annoying is we have differing ideas often on what is entertaining.

When she selects, about 50% of the time I find the movie or series boring or sappy or whatever.

This means that I have to sit through 2+ hours (thanks to commercials) usually when we watch her movies and be bored out of my mind.

I wish she was willing to watch some of her choice of movies on her own.

I would rather be working on this site or just browsing around for that matter rather than squirming through movies that I dont enjoy.

In fairness, I am a fairly picky tv viewer, so I guess its my own fault.

My wife is not nearly as picky as me.

Anyone else have this issue?

I have this issue a lot.

I am quite picky as well.

Don’t understand a lot of people’s taste in movies/shows/books.

My husband really likes scifi themes it seems… not my cup of tea AT ALL, personally… :woozy_face:

My husband usually watches TV on his own because I don’t watch TV very much.

Maybe you can show the missus The Texas Chainsaw Massacre but preface it with a tale about how the movie is a sensitive drama about a Texas family who work in the meat industry and just happen to hate hippies and they also love headcheese.

Since i could remember, i always let them choose what they want and downplay my taste in movies lol. It may be considered fawning, but i hate arguments.

I have terrible terrible taste in movies. Not even in a hipster, ironic kind of way way.

It’s weird cos I have real good taste in music. But this is not passed on to my movie viewing habits
