Yeah same, when i meditate with schizophrenia and medication, I don’t go deep into it.
Before shizophrenia and medication, it was bliss.
For me that is reducing dairy in my diet and added sugar along with not drinking loads of caffiene
I have achieved it by intensive meditation temporarily, it takes some effort to master.

Journalling and breathing exercises. Meds. Coffee. Back scratches from hubby. A hug. Lying down.
Vigorous weight lifting and post exercise high/clarity.

I had a similar experience in post exercise mental clarity to yours.
I keep a happy memory in store to divert my mind when anxious…I focus on that until the anxiety goes away…it works…takes practice.
Pregabalin (unrefined) helps to muffle the noise in the head
It helps to go for a walk or do cardio excersise. I’m usually most restless between 1 and 5pm. Excersising a bit in that time frame helps a lot to calm the mind, by getting in balance. After all we are made for activity.
A good nap is like a hard reset for the brain, imo.
