I’m not really sure that i’m schizophrenic?
You could have both, right? You could always ask your psychiatrist.
I don’t know what your ailment(s) is/are. But your dr could tell you
Doctor dx me with pd and sz
I need to check on chatgpt
Well, if the dr diagnosed you with both, I’d go with that. They go through extremely extensive training.
While paranoid personality disorder (PPD), schizotypal personality disorder (STPD), and schizophrenia share overlapping features like social withdrawal, suspiciousness, and odd or eccentric thinking, they are distinct clinical conditions with different diagnostic criteria. [1, 2, 3]
Key Differences Between the Conditions
- Paranoid Personality Disorder (PPD):
- Core features: A long-term, pervasive pattern of deep distrust and suspicion of other people’s motives without adequate reason.
- Reality testing: People with PPD do not experience chronic hallucinations or fixed, prominent delusions. [1]
- Schizotypal Personality Disorder (STPD):
- Core features: A Cluster A personality disorder marked by odd or eccentric behavior, magical thinking, unusual perceptual experiences (such as bodily illusions), social anxiety, and paranoid ideation.
- Reality testing: While individuals with STPD may have brief, transient psychotic-like thoughts or fleeting ideas of reference, they do not have the persistent, severe psychosis, deep detachment from reality, or prolonged delusions and hallucinations seen in schizophrenia. They are also typically more able to recognize that their unusual ideas might not match reality. [1, 2]
- Schizophrenia:
- Core features: A severe psychiatric brain disorder that requires persistent psychotic symptoms—such as prominent and sustained delusions (false fixed beliefs), hallucinations (hearing or seeing things that are not there), disorganized or incoherent thinking, and flat or disturbed affect—for a significant duration (at least 6 months of overall disturbance, including 1 month of active-phase symptoms).
- Reality testing: People experiencing schizophrenia generally cannot be swayed away from their delusions and struggle significantly with interpreting reality. [1, 2, 3]
What You Should Do Next
Because these conditions look similar on the surface, distinguishing between a personality trait, a personality disorder, or a psychotic-spectrum illness requires a face-to-face clinical assessment.
Man it’s really a spectrum, you could have both neither or either one. I fit the paranoid type like a glove for about 3-4 years but eventually found remission in the right medication and now nobody can tell I’m sick unless I tell them. They might notice that I fidget a bit (medicine induced akathisia) but I think they assume that I have mild ADD or something at most.
Do you hold grudges?
Yes i do.

Aye that’s something PPD often experiences. I saw a Dr Ramani video about it some years ago.
