Im just wondering because i think that might be how much backpay i get
Save it for when I need it.
A vehicle probably
Travel, I guess
Use some of it to pay back my older brother (he paid off my credit card debt. But the good thing about my brother is that he’s adding no interest and he says there’s no rush for me to pay him back. So I much rather owe money to him than the bank) buy a new laptop. Buy a better treadmill and some weight lifting equipment. Put some in savings. Use some to buy my meds.
I would do what i have done with the rest. Stick it in a high interest account your cant touch for 3 years. Ive made a few grand leaving it alone in the Isle of Man.
Have more than that in an emergency account.
How did you learn about finance? Did you just do research on your own?
Not Rocket Science really, the Brother in laws both own businesses, and have houses themselves they rent out. And frankly, it was alot of googling and the use of the brother in laws accountant and solicitors.
Trust me - ive had alot of help. Im no business guru.
Yeah accountants can do wonders. My father saved 20k this year because he got married and my dad’s accountant set something up for him!!!
Yeah, Alot of my money is held in the Isle of Man - where cough the tax laws are more lenient - plus not all of it is in my name. Suppose you could call it a bit of creative accounting lol ![]()
When you live paycheck to paycheck as far as bills go, its best to keep money like that saved in an account.
When we sell the condo, we are likely going to put all the money in treasury bonds. We have some backup money now but you never know if a car is going to go kaput or a furnace is going to go bad, etc.
I wouldnt just blow it.
Well if it was me who had that much I’d use about 1,500 to buy a nice prosumer level camcorder that can shoot documentaries and features well, and then I’d stash the rest in savings.
10k would put a mild dent in my credit card debt. Paying off this year
I’d put most in savings. In fact, almost all of it in savings.
But I live with my folks – so my expenses aren’t like it would be if I was living on my own
I would put 7k in my boys ISA account. And spend 3k on new flooring throughout my flat and doing the living room up.
I have decided that I would splurge and spend $3 to buy @SzSupportAdmin a quality French tickler off of eBay.
Is that like a cat toy? ![]()
I thought he was allergic to pussy. Cats.
