Who else gets shitty side effects from their APs?
The Shittiest side effect I got from long term Loxapine at a high dose of 100mg per day was TD(Tardive Dyskinesia) TD caused my speech to slur, my lips and tongue to move on their own and it also caused Dystonia in my left hand. I’ve been off Loxapine for 8 months now and sadly my left hand is not getting any better. My speech has improved though.
My right arm has been twitching for three days now. I hope I’m not developing TD.
I dont get many side effects beside having less pleasure on some activities…..I guess maybe it might have something to do with being overweight too…..or I could just be a pig ![]()
i sometimes feel over-tranquilized on abilify.
judy
We should start a thread where we check in daily with whether or not we took our meds as prescribed that day or the day before.
Risperidone combined with Clopixol injection gave me a sleepless night due to Oculogyric Crisis.
Anxiety city on Abilify. It could be worse.
I take lurasidone at dinner and every night it makes me fall asleep by about 8pm. That’s not the most horrible side effect so I guess I shouldn’t complain but it is still affecting my life negatively. I fall asleep before my daughter does and I don’t get to spend any time with my husband in the evening.
@Vinegar , can you eat a small snack at 8:30 pm then take your medicine and fall asleep a bit later? That’s what I do
Just drooling while sleeping.
And I jerk my head. Maybe it’s TD
Sometimes I still get restless leg syndrome. I had it bad for years, I’m glad it’s virtually gone.
Thanks for the suggestion @Lillyofthevalley
I may give that a try.
I don’t usually eat anything after dinner because I am trying to lose weight so I will have to make sure it’s a small snack. The medication instructions say to always take it with at least 350 calories of food but i can try a small snack and see if it works.
I get akathisia sometimes and restless legs. Usually when the dose is too high.
Akathisia is the pits
Cobenfy gave me wicked nausea at first, now I’m left with some urinary retention.
@shutterbug youre taking cobenfy? And I read a post earlier your taking cold medicine? I couldn’t find a cold med that didn’t interact with cobenfy also antibiotics don’t know what to take
How long did it take for the nausea to go away? When I take cobenfy I get severe nausea and vomiting. They gave me a bag filled with samples of the stuff. I quit it because I was miserable.
A couple months. I take it on top of Wegovy, which can also cause nausea. Good times.
Wow, that’s kind of a long time. You must have really toughed it out.
I’ve been taking head meds for over three decades and have learned you need to stick with a med for at least three months whenever possible to start getting past the worst side-effects and start seeing benefits as your system dials into it.
