Just wondering what the worst ap or psychiatric med is that you’ve taken… not the most objectively or universally worst one… just in your own experience. Maybe someone else had a good experience IDK.
For me the worst one was Invega… sexual side effects, weight gain, palpitations, restlessness… the one im on now Rexulti is pretty good at the low dose Im taking
I think the haldol was quite bad
That was a whole other kind of weird sedation
Ive never taken it long term but i think they KO’d me with it a few times.
I have a similar story. My worst one was invega too but because I got severe TD on it. I’m now on rexulti and am feeling better. I still take austedo for the TD.
I took Haldol and it actually works quite well for my hallucinating and such
The first AP I was put on – risperidone. Worst rigidity ever, and it didn’t touch my psychosis. Don’t think I’d try it again, although I know some folks here do take it and like it
Cobenfy is a close second, but I think it helped a little with my positive symptoms. The side effects were awful though
Paliperidone.
Quetiapine. Terrible akathisia and heart palpitations and a panicky feeling I was trapped in my body. Also gave me auditory hallucinations
I took rexulti I liked it but my doctor was hell bent on putting me on different meds if I still heard voices.

The old school AP, Navane
Turned me into a Zombie.
Second would have to be high dose Abilify
Increased my paranoia and anxiety
Too me risperidol and invega were the worst i was jusr as hungry as olanzapine AND unlike olanzapine it was a waste of time bullshit garbage

To me now haldol. Like I’m not in function for nothing. Only siting home. Every work is hard to do it. I ruin everything that I touch. I m scared even to go outside. Good thing is that I eat less. But everything else is worst.
Zyprexa. It made me fat
There were bad ones for sure, but they were all life savers as far as psychosis goes.
Clopixol zombified me. Zyprexa made me fat and Risperidone gave me a swollen tongue.
Im on Abilify atm with some Akathisia.
Abilify caused so bad confusion I was out of it for a while. Although I had pretty bad akathisia from Latuda as well, felt like crawling out of my skin. Cariprazine is similar, horrible drugs all right. Thankfully forgot most of the experiences to be frank, and that is good really; no memories, no worries.
Mirtazapine (AD) made me eat like an elephant preparing to hibernate ( I know they don’t but if they did) I gained weight at an astronomical speed
Seroquel (AP) caused to to eat and sleep all day everyday and I gained tons of weight really fast
asenapine (AP) gave me my energy back but I went psycho on it and was super religious and nuts
Wellbutrin caused to to be hyper and ocd
Yea Serequel/quetiapine gained 30lbs in several weeks, not good for mental state either the drug i mean for me @Dika @Lilyofthevalley and Mirtazapine gave me feeling of guts being wrenched out lol
Depixol slept 24/7
Clozapine felt stiff zombified unable to be spontaneous
Im on clopixol happily numb i think but still a mess
Risperidone I went from 144 lbs to like 200 in like 5 months.l didnt like olanzapine ate like a horse too.. invega im on but dont like it i can relate to some of you
Effexor I felt autistic on it.
