Maybe so on discord, but we didnt have much luck witht those here. Was constantly getting nuisance flags and such.
I’d wanted to bring this up but had to check it up for myself.
Because I live in the EU i’m accustomed to checking a box for the privacy policy, you could add things there. I’m not sure if I have seen this during the setup of my account, but that would be enough. I’m not sure how the US situation is.
I’d prefer not having bot moderators if possible
I think the way this forum is set up is just fine
@SzSupportAdmin my post originally said I’d prefer not having both moderators - I meant BOT moderators like computer programs doing the moderating
I was like wtheck @Lilyofthevalley ![]()

it’s like too early for us mods rn. ![]()
Lmao!!! Sorry!!! When I glanced at it I was like what on earth?! Oops!!! Luckily I caught it
No worries. My sigh was heard across the fields of midwestern us. ![]()
I don’t believe its wise to profit or generate revenue off the needs of a severe medical diagnosis. I understand from a “paid” medical coverage that this is ethical but from a “universal health” coverage country, it seems wrong.
No one is earning money. The donations are going directly to the cost of running the server only @SzSupportAdmin
No one is profiting off it @yinyang . Every couple months I show our income and expenses and I pay our monthly expenses.
I am covering the seperate website https://schizophreniapeersupport.org/ expenses myself out of pocket. so..you kknow…no windfall here.
I’m not sure what youre not getting here @yinyang
I’m not sure what your not getting here
Well, that’s good there is an income statement & a balance sheet to track costs for operations. All forms of entities whether for profit or non-profit need to keep account of how money flows.
Two different perspectives on medical or health related funding.
I see. I appreciate your perspective, but really, if we hadnt made this move towards voluntary donations and staff this forum would no longer exist and none of us would be here among the people we know.
The old forum is nonexistent now and no one was stepping forward from the outside to keep us afloat.
@yinyang when the announcement was made on the old forum that the cost had become too much for the admin guy to keep it going, many members offered to donate. @SzSupportAdmin (Bowens) offered this site as an option. He and the other moderators do it all for free on a voluntary basis. But the site has to be paid for. Browns has been extremely transparent about all donations and expenditures. I think he has done an amazing job
Thanks @Lilyofthevalley . Yes, We only have two income sources and I frequently post the pages that show what we have made and what is going out. THe outgoing is consistent and not hard to keep track of. I havent really shared the costs of the seperate website because I am covering that outside of the forum fund.
Its not real hard to track.
anyway, I believe this poll is a very solid NO and Im going to close this topic.
