We have not been forced to issue a single non automated flag yet nor have we had to ding anyone with a suspension.
This is great for 5 or 6 days now.
Part of this is probably due to the fact that the core of the users are veterans from schizophrenia.com and not random joiners from the internet.
I remember my first days moderating on the old site and it could get really hectic and stressful. Comparatively, here is a walk in the park, so far.
We have only had minor incidents where we had to close a thread here and there or caution a few members about the rules. Pretty tame stuff.
Typing in “schizophrenia discourse forum” or similar in google yesterday yielded for me the number 1 result of this forum. Even above the schizophrenia.com forum. So, we may receive a trickle of new users from the internet in general over time once schizophrenia.com forum is gone.
But…..I doubt too many random people will be typing “discourse” in their search for schizophrenia resources.
If we want to maintain any growth, it may be wise for us to think about investing a separate website with a link to this forum. Or maybe asking szadmin if he will link his webpage to this forum. I believe he is keeping the page up? Just not the forums.
Or we can go the route of just trying to maintain the users we have. I’m not sure which direction to go, honestly.
Anyway, stuff for after the holidays. Many of us have lots to do this time of year and we are safe and secure here for now.
Any thoughts? Suggestions? Advice?
Thanks again for making managing this site so easy and thanks for all your generosity in funding it.
