Nick. I think you’re a pleasure on the forum. Yeah you deal with psychosis and that’s hard to see sometimes, but generally you’re ridiculously high functioning imo. And when you’re in a better place, you give people a lot of motivation. At least for me you have done so.
It is sad to be alone, to be stuck. But once I posted about loneliness and you asked me at the time, if I was doing enough on my side. Perhaps at the time, you were on guard due to illness and people sensed that? It doesn’t seem like they personally didn’t like you. But I don’t know, you will know best what was going on. But I offer this as another perspective to the situation you were in and possibly the memory won’t be as painful?
Stay awesome Nick. You’re a cool guy, your stories of life are encouraging to me all the time. This isn’t even politeness or flattery, I genuinely have read some very interesting insights thanks to you
My puppy is stuck to my hip.. when she got groomed on June 22nd.. I went home and waited for a half an hour and I missed her soooo much
Me too. I was not popular at all. Looking back though I don’t care. It’s not the most important thing in life. My friends weren’t popular either go figure but they were good friends.
After I hit about 40 years old, I stopped caring so much what other people thought of me. When I was a teenager, I was obsessed with being thin and beautiful. Now I’m fat I’m 50 and I don’t care.
I am glad they help you @bobbilly
When I got sick I tried to get some help but I gave up as it took ages for not a lot to happen
Then when off in 2022 sick the benefits only covered 2 thirds of my bills so I lost all my life savings trying to keep my home
i used to be popular before my schizophrenia took over. i miss those days
I know the feeling too.
Its easy to say not to care but when one is disrespected and mean spirited behaviour and bully vibes and exclusion and isolation and other nasty stuff it can disturb ones sacred space and life and hurt.
Hi Nick, sounds like an isolating experience. If they were not including you then it’s their issue rather than yours. You were better off. Next time I’m in hospital I will chat to someone but I’m usually there involuntarily and I’m sedated with an injection I’m not allowed to come off! Such is life…
I ate by myself too in the psych hospital but it was my choice, I preferred it this way.
