I get $24 of SNAP benefits a month. When I originally applied I was hoping for $100 or $200 a month. $24 is a small amount but hey, you can buy a lot of things for $24. I just shopped for the week and got canned fruit, dried beans, onions, jalapeños, bread and milk and a few other things and my SNAP benefits payed for half and I appreciate that.
My Mom has a grocery allowence with her health insurance it helps having an extra 100$ a month for food
Yeah, I got $75 a month grocery benefit last year from my insurance but they discontinued it for 2026. Now Medicaid is going to give me a box of food once a week for 12 weeks and I might be able to extend it.
She has United Healthcare Dual Complete you may want to look into it it’s for those on Medicaid and Medicare. It covers dental and vision too
I always like ur pearls of wisdom
Yeah, I’ll look into it on ChatGPT. I live in Santa Clara County and have Santa Clara Family Health Plan which combines all the benefits of Medicare and Medicaid. It’s a pretty good program, I like it a lot.
You wanted One hundred
But you got twenty four
I sounds like to me,
your groceries are out the door
It’s a good program. Realistically, the only reason I would switch would be to get the grocery benefit but if I switched I would lose my current doctors and my plan is better tailored for my local situation. I’m going to have to think about it, thanks for the info.
