I am 36 years old,and I have never really had a serious relationship with a woman,I know schizophrenia sucks, but not having a girl friend sucks a lot too, I wish to find a woman who has schizophrenia also,I know that might be dangerous, especially about kids, but I want to to have a friend I can call or text when things are rough, same for the friend also,i will always be here for that friend,no matter what,I just want someone I can hug and talk to, is that to much amto ask for

A lot of single people on here, some even want to be single because it’s too much to be with someone.

You can’t really ask for love, you got to seek it out and try to find it. I have been single most of my life, it’s been too rough to be with someone because I had too much health issues to deal with. But maybe some day.

My husband and I are both physically and psychologically disabled. We have different illnesses but we help each other through the hard times. We don’t judge each other due to short comings.

No, it’s not too much to ask.

I’m glad that you’re open to dating a woman with schizophrenia. My girlfriend has schizophrenia, and she’s the only woman I’ve ever met that I feel completely understands me, and I completely understand her.

I met her at a mental health “drop-in center” (a place for people with a mental illness to socialize). I was 48-years old (I’m 62 now) when I met her, so don’t lose hope.

Do they have NAMI meetings where you live? You may be able to become friends with a woman there.

The last two women i slept with had schizophrenia. It was not fun the one just used me for free booze and cigarettes and money.. the other one was good she was attractive but she had a 6 month old son and the baby daddy was to much to deal with a real goof

my first wife was sz…we met on an older version of this forum…we made horrible money decisions and her family talked her into dumping me…wasn’t my fault or hers…we blamed the sz…now i’m with a “normal” wife and I am much happier.

I think there is woman for every need.

If you want just sex,you search for that.

If you want relationship, you got to know yourself thoroughly ..

I’m not searching,I’m waiting, cause I don’t want sex, just company, and I’m very complicated and changing mind too often, and for that I need to grow in psychological term. When it happens, than I’ll know that is it.

And I’m only 52..

I understand your need for companionship @Josh but this forum is not a dating site.

I’ve made quite a few good friendships over the years though, male and female

I dislike the question I think women are people not objects to obtain.

I’ve had 3 relationships, 2 years duration each. Before schizo. After schizo, nothing.

I have no appetite for romance or sex

I had a relationship that lasted 3 weeks

She was too full on for me with public displays of affection

Was very uncomfortable

Her aunt also told her to stop taking in strays right in front of me and said oh not you dear

Bollocks

Yeah iam not making this post to look for woman, just making a post about my experience with woman,I know this is not a dating site, just making conversation

same here.every thing in life became so hard when you have mental illness specially schizohrenia.

Women are nice, very nice

Unfortunately, men are often more diagnosed with schizophrenia than women. Majority of men with schizophrenia cannot hold a job, earn an income and be promoted in their respective careers. Sane, decent & normal women avoid schizophrenic men due to the financial reasons I stated prior. Not to mention the emotional, psychological and mental burden such a relationship would bring to the woman.

@yinyang youre only looking at finances and health. Love can overcome a lot of that. I truly believe it’s possible for a mentally ill man to be loved by a sane woman. It’s not often, but it’s possible.

As you stated, “it’s possible” but highly unlikely as I would place a relationship between a sane woman & schizophrenic man at a 20% probability. That is a low percentage but this is the odds men need to face realistically.
